HD DVD and Blu-ray collection
Since you can't really create pages with blogspot I just thought I would do a post with a list of my HD and blu-ray Collection. So this is what I've got so far:-
HD's:
Blood Diamond
Transformers
Poseidon
Heroes: Season 1
Black Rain
The Island
The Mummy
The Bourne Ultimatum
The Bourne Supremacy
The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift
300
Knocked Up
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Dead Silence (This movie is really crap)
The Prestige
Full Metal Jacket
Children of Men
Serenity
Blu-rays:
Rush Hour 3
Weeds: Season 1
So I've got quite a few to keep me going but I'm sure I will buy more HD's since they are all going pretty cheap on Amazon and other retailers. I still don't really like blu-ray but because it's won I should start buying more of those.

Last Movies I watched and my HD DVD player

So I watched quite a few good movies over the past few weeks and I thought I would just share my opinions on them. The last one I watched (a few hours ago from this post actually) was 'The Shawshank Redemption'. I never saw this movie all the way through when it was TV because it was always on late at night and when it was on I was never in the mood for it because I knew it was going to be long. Anyway I bought it the other day in a 3 for 20 deal and decided to watch it today. I kind of knew I was going to like it because a lot of things I had read about it were always positive and people always had good stuff to say about it and when I saw it today I would definitely have to agree 100%. It was one of those movies that, although quite long, keeps you interested all the way through to the end. And the end bytheway was one of my favourite parts. How he executed the plan was just brilliant. The direction of the movie and the acting from Tim Robbins was also top notch. Morgan Freeman was good but I felt his role was quite limited. I would probably say that this was a 4 star (maybe 5 star) movie.
Yesterday I watched a new movie called 'Step up 2: The streets'. I loved the first one and when I saw the trailer for the second I knew I had see it. Anyway, a screener was finally available so I decided to download it. So was it good? Er...Yep! I loved it. It was just as good as the first one and the soundtrack was also brilliant. The story is pretty predictable but it always is with these types of movies but the movie was not totally about that. It was about the dance moves which might I say were excellent and looked very hard to pull off. Them guys must have been training a lot to do those moves and I have to give them credit for that. There wasn't really any known actors in the film but I like that sometimes as you don't really know what to expect. Anyway the movie overall was really good and if you like watching these types of movies you'll love this one. I'd say 3 and a half stars. (But it would get five for the dance moves).

I recently bought a HD DVD player (yes I know blu-ray has won) and I got 2 free HD's with it. They were 'The Bourne Supremacy' and '300', also I sent off for 5 more free HD's all for £110. So even though Toshiba will not be producing HD's from the end of May I still think it's a good deal and it's a good starting point if you just bought a HD TV like me. Anyway I can always upgrade to a blu ray player later on. Plus If you compare blu-ray to HD DVD there is actually no difference in picture and sound. Both are very similar. But must admit a lot of blu rays don't have as good features as HD DVD's such as picture in picture and video commentaries but probabaly will do in the near future. The only real difference is that blu-ray's got more space I think.
The 5 extra HD's I got were, The Prestige, Full Metal Jacket, Black Rain, Children of Men AND Serenity. Not bad for free. I also bought The Island, The Mummy and Dead Silence the other day for quite a cheap price off eBay.
